Understanding WACC in the LaganiLabs portfolio tracker
Weighted Average Cost of Capital (WACC) tells you the true average price you paid per share across multiple buy transactions. Here is how to read it in the app.

If you've bought shares of the same company multiple times at different prices, your simple average price can be misleading. LaganiLabs uses Weighted Average Cost of Capital (WACC) — a more accurate measure that accounts for the quantity you bought at each price point.
The formula
WACC per share = Total amount invested ÷ Total units held. For example: if you bought 10 units at NPR 400 and 20 units at NPR 500, your WACC is (4,000 + 10,000) ÷ 30 = NPR 466.67 — not NPR 450 (simple average).
WACC is recalculated automatically every time you add or edit a transaction in your portfolio.
Where to find it in the app
Navigate to Portfolio → select any holding → tap 'Details'. You will see Cost Basis (total invested), Current Value, WACC per share, and unrealised P&L. Tapping any transaction in the history lets you edit or delete it.
- WACC updates instantly when transactions are edited
- Supports buy, sell, bonus share, and rights transactions
- Dividend income is tracked separately and does not affect WACC
- Export your full portfolio as CSV from Settings → Export Data
